Subject: Please Take Action: Stop Medicare Cuts
Date: Tue, 11 Oct 2005 22:52:12 GMT
 | | | | If Congress doesn't act soon, Medicare will slash payments to doctors by 26% over the next four years! | | | | Dear Bob Owen, The AMA Patients' Action Network would like to thank you for your continued support of America's patients and your efforts to maintain and improve our nation's health care system. We would also like to send a special thank you to those of you who are working tirelessly to help Americans in need in the aftermath of Hurricanes Katrina and Rita. This summer, the AMA Patients' Action Network won several key victories in America's fight for improved access to quality health care. While patients won battles in the fight for Patient Safety, which was passed into law, and Medical Liability Reform, which passed in the U.S. House of Representatives, major action is still needed to stop Medicare payment cuts and pass liability reform in the Senate. Our campaign to protect America's patients by stopping drastic Medicare cuts is in full swing. Patients from all over the country have flooded Capitol Hill with phone calls and e-mails urging support for the Preserving Patient Access to Physicians Act of 2005. Your help is critical! If Congress doesn't act soon, the government will slash Medicare payments by a staggering 26% over the next six years. As a result, many doctors will be forced to reduce the number of new Medicare patients they can treat and America's patients will suffer.
Please click here to send an e-mail to your representative and senators. Again, thank you for your continued involvement in the AMA Patients' Action Network and your commitment to the future of America's health care system. Sincerely, AMA Patients' Action Network
